Hello, I'm Louis
Project manager and parent, an expat living in Lyon, France.
A few years back I moved here with my family. What began as a short-term contract gradually became a new chapter of life overseas.
How It Started
Moving to France wasn’t in the long-range plan. As with many expatriate relocations, it began as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far more significant.
The initial months were demanding — unfamiliar systems, routines, expectations. Day-to-day tasks seemed more complex than anticipated.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, ambiguity, and much learning on the job. Gradually, routines took shape. We found places that suited us, connected with other families, and began creating something that felt steady.
Why I Built RadiantGroveEcho
Most online resources were either corporate relocation guidance or shallow tourism content. What was lacking was an honest, everyday family viewpoint.
This site aims to fill that gap — practical guidance grounded in real life in France.
What This Site Covers (And What It Does Not)
This site is:
- Real-world experience from living in France
- Centered on family life and daily realities
- Updated when there is a genuine change
This site isn't:
- An official tourism body resource
- A paid review platform
- A generic travel blog
Looking Ahead
Our time in France continues, and so does the learning process. As long as the information is useful, I’ll keep documenting what we discover.
If you have questions about family life in Lyon or anywhere in France, feel free to reach out.
Best regards,
Louis
